Welcome to Nutrimental! My name is Rachael. I’m a registered dietitian living in the Big Apple with my boyfriend and Boston Terrier by my side.
My passion for food started early. Growing up with a military dad brought my family across the ocean and back and allowed me to develop an incredibly varied palate. From delicious German bratwurst to flavorful Southern cuisine, I experienced (and loved) it all.
My love for food peaked my interest in nutrition. It intrigued me how the single most important controllable factor in our health was also the one that people struggled with the most.
There is so much confusion and misinformation out there about what we should eat and how much. Through my process of becoming a dietitian and beyond, it became increasingly clear just how simple a good diet can and should be.
My philosophy? Eat to sustain your body. Eat for nourishment. And enjoy your food! Following these three fundamental principles is really all it takes to have a healthy, sustainable, and delicious diet.
Through my website and blog, I hope to shed some light on things I think are important. From recipes to nutritional highlights to current events in the food industry, I hope to bring a fresh and simple perspective to the table.
